He is the founder and Managing Partner of the Firm. He is widely regarded as an outstanding Litigation Advocate, Conveyancer, Arbitrator and Leader, representing clients in a multi-disciplinary commercial services and civil cases. Over the years Mr. Gachoka, has earned a reputation within Kenya and across borders, for delivering first-rate legal expertise. 

With 23 years’ experience in continuous private legal practice, Mr. Gachoka is highly reputable and a safe pair of hands in all legal and delicate matters. He has handled many high profile and notable landmark cases that have resulted in legal precedent. Mr. Gachoka is comfortable handling any litigation matter ranging from constitutional, labour, commercial, conveyancing matters.

Besides private practice, Mr. Gachoka has served several key positions, namely; Chairman of the Public Procurement Complaints Review and Appeals Board from 17th September, 2007 to 2013 where he handled all appeals and reviews arising from public procurement and was involved in drafting the Public Procurement and Disposal Regulations, 2006 and most recently, publication of the 2008 to 2010 Public Procurement Law Reports; Chairman of the Restrictive Trade Practices Tribunal in 2006 and served as Council Member of the Law Society of Kenya between 2003 to 2006.

With rich academic experience, Mr. Gachoka’s observations on several legal matters have been groundbreaking.  For instance, he has written and presented numerous seminar papers and publications on Procurement among other pertinent topics including:

  • 2012 – Complaints and Appeals Mechanisms in Kenya, (Ruhr University), Bochum, Germany;
  • 2011 – Salient Features of the Procurement and Disposal law, (Committee for the Implementation of the Constitution);
  • 2010 – Public Procurement Reforms in Kenya, (OECD-DAC Conference);
  • 2010 – War on Corruption in Public Procurement – Recent Achievements, (3rd East Africa Procurement Forum);
  • 2009– The Dynamics of Judicial Review Orders and their Impact on Procurement Law in Kenya (East African Procurement Forum);
  • 2008 – Appeal Mechanism in Kenya (East African Procurement Forum);

The publications, which have delivered a blueprint for the future of procurement industry, have been adopted by government bodies and implemented by relevant industries.  His papers include, Appeal Mechanism in Kenya presented at East African Procurement forum. The Dynamics of Judicial Review Orders and their impact on Procurement law in Kenya, among others.

Mr. Gachoka’s involvement in the community goes far and beyond the legal profession.  In keeping with his strong belief in education, he provides scholarships for local school students including contributing to many other national charities and serves as a Member and Patron of several schools namely Kiinu Primary School-Othaya, Kijabe Girls Secondary School, Chinga Boys High School and Mucharage Girls Secondary School.
